Transliteration is not translation
The Roman-to-Urdu converter changes the spelling of what you type into Urdu script. It does not translate meaning between languages. Typing an English sentence will produce that English sentence written in Urdu letters, not its Urdu equivalent.
Accuracy of conversion
Roman Urdu has no single standard spelling, and Urdu script omits most short vowels. That means conversion in either direction involves informed guesswork. The tools aim to give the most likely result and offer alternatives where a word is ambiguous, but output should always be proofread before publication — particularly for names, poetry, religious text and legal or medical wording.
Legacy and Unicode conversion
Legacy InPage and font-encoded Urdu was never standardised across publishers. Converted output is a strong starting point rather than a guaranteed match, and we recommend checking the result against the original document.
Voice typing
Urdu dictation depends on your browser’s own speech recognition service. Accuracy varies with accent, microphone quality, background noise and browser — support is strongest in Chrome, Edge and on Android, and unavailable in some browsers entirely. We do not control or guarantee the transcription quality.
